  • Real-time overlay (work in progress)

The net.html app can connect to an overlay messaging network to receive real-time updates from network peers without using a central server.

The HTML link network works as a signaling channel to establish peer-to-peer connections between browsers.

If you can set up publishing directly from the app, then you can participate in the overlay.

    Configuration

    Public STUN servers

To connect to peers outside your local network, you may need to configure one or more STUN servers in the app. Go to Settings and add as many servers as you like.

If you are on an IPv6 network, then maybe you don't need to use a STUN server.

When using a public STUN server, you rely on a third party service who will learn your IP address and the fact that you are using WebRTC. They will not be able to see who you connect to.
