6 easy steps to become part of a HTML network.

Step 1: Create a network webpage

You can name the webpage anything.

You can design it in any way you want. It will be displayed in the streams of your network peers.

Include rel=friend links on your webpage to other peoples webpages.

    Example:

    <a rel="friend" href="https://…">rel=friend link</a>

The rel=friend links are used by the app to discover the network.

    Step 2: Set CORS header

Set an Access-Control-Allow-Origin: * HTTP header for your webpage.

By setting this header you allow the browsers of your visitors to fetch your page from another origin. This is what allows the app to work without a proxy.

Step 3: Use the app to view the network

The net.html web app crawls the network and displays updates to the webpages.

The app is a HTML + CSS + JavaScript web app. It can be hosted on your own web server. It's static files.

Step 4: Follow your webpage in the app

The app does not know your webpage automatically.

Go to the app and click the Follow button in the main screen UI.

    Paste in your webpage URL.

Step 5: Get incoming links from someone

When you have outgoing links to the network, you can observe the network, but the network cannot observe you.

Getting an existing member of the network to link to your webpage makes you visible to the network.

    Step 6: Publish something

Say hello to the network by publishing something.
